Desert Title & Tag offers many services to keep your vehicle on the road. When you visit one of our comfortable offices you can expect friendly service with little to no wait time. We are able to complete most MVD transaction and do so in a fraction of the time you might spend at a normal congested MVD office. Did you Buy a new car?
If you bought a car in Arizona, you have 15 days to transfer title into your name
Title and Registration
To transfer a title into your name, you must have a title signed off by the seller(s) or a notarized Title Transfer Bill of Sale. All owners must be present to sign off on the transfer to Arizona or sign on a Title Application.
If the vehicle is being registered in the greater Phoenix or Tucson area and the model year is 5 years or older, an emissions test will be required before the vehicle can be titled and registered. You can find a local emissions station here.
Registration costs in Arizona vary based on the year of the vehicle and the original manufactures suggested list price. As such, registration varies from vehicle to vehicle.
When you walk out of the office you will have a temporary plate and registration as your plates, registration sticker and registration card will be mailed to you within a few weeks of the service. Titles are held electronically but we can assist you with requesting a physical title if you are eligible.
New to Arizona
If you have just moved to Arizona here is what you need to know to transfer your vehicles and register them in Arizona.

If you are not making payments on your vehicle you will need to bring your out of state title with you and that title will be transferred to Arizona. All owners must be present to sign off on the transfer to Arizona or sign on a Title Application.

Registration Only
If you are making payments on the vehicle, the title will be held in the previous state until the loan has been paid off.
To register it in Arizona, bring in your registration renewal letter or current registration card. Temporary registration is not accepted.

Since there will be change in the title, all owners do not have to be present to sign.
